EXOSOMATOSIS (DASKALOS) OR EXOMATOSIS (MARKIDES) 

 

DD 0l  EXOSOMATOSIS (EP 154)    A Greek word equivalent of the English expression "out of body". We know of a first (from the material body), a second (from the psychical body) and a third (from the noetical body) exosomatosis. We all leave our bodies each night, during sleep, and travel to other planes subconsciously. The aim, however, is to live self-consciously while out of our bodies.

DD 10 EXOMATOSIS (FH 299)    Exomatosis the ability willfully to abandon one's body, live fully conscious within the psychonoetic dimensions, and then return back to the body. It implies remembering whatever one experiences in a out-of-body state. (Exomatosis is also referred to as Astral Travel.)

EP 9    The expansion of consciousness, and exosomatosis, are difficult when ninety-five per cent of an individual's consciousness is concerned with material things and base desires; "He that is of the earth is earthly¹' (John 3:31). As eager as people are for exosomatosis, as long as their personality is tied to the material world they will be limited in their success, fastened to the material bodies.

ET 92    In the psychic world, movement takes place by thoughts and concentration. Anyone who has the ability to escape from the confinement of the material body, using, for example, the method of exosomatosis, can find himself travelling from one side of the planet to the other in a second or two. We can also be here and there and in many other places, all at once. Conventional perceptions of time and space collapse in exosomatosis and attunement.

ET 99   Mystics can visit any planet they wish, but not in their material body. They must set aside their gross material body --first exosomatosis--, assimilate their psychic body into the noetical body --second exosomatosis--, and with the noetical body they may then reach the planet of their choice.
